The City Coastline

This tour is about Barcelona's connection to the sea. We explain the evolution of Barcelona’s coastline, exploring the impact of major events like the Olympics 1992 and the Forum Barcelona 2004 on architecture, urban development and landscape design. In view of the America’s Cup 2024 in Barcelona, we show the newest projects of the City Council that will transform a large part of the seafront again. The context of the historical development of the city is explored just as the climatic challenges that the coastal line will face in the future.
